Prestige System Guide
How Prestige Works
The Prestige system is Anime Overload's method for recycling duplicate heroes into meaningful power upgrades. Instead of having extra copies of a hero sit unused in your inventory, you can merge them into your main copy to make it permanently stronger.
Step-by-Step Process
- Open the Hero Management screen and select the hero you want to prestige.
- Tap the Prestige button (appears when you have eligible duplicates).
- Select the duplicate hero to consume. You can preview the stat increase before confirming.
- Confirm the merge. The duplicate is destroyed and the target hero gains a permanent stat boost.
- The hero's Prestige level increases by 1.
What Counts as a Duplicate?
A duplicate is any copy of the same base hero. Evolution forms of the same hero count as duplicates of each other. For example, if you have two copies of Strongest Alien — one evolved to SA (Burst) and one unevolved — the unevolved copy can be used to prestige the evolved one. The duplicate's level and traits do not affect the prestige bonus; only the act of merging matters.
Stat Boost Mechanics
Prestige provides permanent stat bonuses to the hero. The exact stats enhanced have not been fully documented yet. The boost is applied relative to the hero's current level and evolution stage, so prestiging after evolving and max-leveling yields better results.
When to Prestige
Timing your prestiges correctly can significantly impact your account's progression. Here is the optimal order of operations.
Max Level First
Level the hero to their maximum level before prestiging. Since Prestige boosts are percentage-based on base stats, higher base stats from leveling mean larger absolute gains from each Prestige level.
Evolve Before Prestige
If the hero has an evolution path, complete all evolution stages before applying Prestige. Evolution dramatically increases base stats, so a Prestige bonus calculated on evolved stats is far more valuable than one calculated on pre-evolution stats.
Reroll Traits Before Prestige
Get the optimal trait sorted out before investing duplicate heroes into prestige. While traits are independent of prestige, you want to ensure the hero you are investing in is already optimized.
Then Prestige
Once the hero is max level, fully evolved, and has the right trait — prestige away. Feed every duplicate you have into your main copy. The stat boost is permanent and cannot be lost or reversed.
Priority Order: Max Level → Evolve → Reroll Trait → Prestige. Doing it in any other order means you are leaving stat gains on the table.
Prestige Benefits Analysis
The value of Prestige scales with the hero's power level. Here is why investing in Prestige is worth your duplicates.
Prestige provides permanent stat bonuses to the target hero. The exact stats enhanced have not been fully documented yet. What is confirmed is that the bonuses are permanent, scale with the hero's base stats, and make a meaningful difference in endgame content.
Who to Prestige First
Since Prestige boosts are percentage-based, they are most impactful on heroes with high base stats. Prioritize your main DPS — typically an evolved Secret-tier unit from the SSS tier. After your DPS, prestige your key support and control units. Farm/utility heroes like Eskanor benefit the least from Prestige and should be last priority.
Prestige vs. Second Team Copy
If you only have two copies of a hero, consider whether you need a second team for Raids or multi-team content before consuming the duplicate for Prestige. In most cases, Prestige is the better choice since a single powerful hero outperforms two mediocre copies. But if you are running multiple team compositions for different content, keeping the second copy may be more valuable.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Prestiging Before Evolution
This is the most common mistake. If your hero has an evolution path, always complete evolution first. The percentage-based boost from Prestige applies to base stats — evolved stats are much higher, so the same Prestige level gives you more raw power on an evolved unit.
Prestiging Low-Tier Heroes
Do not waste duplicates on heroes that are not in your main roster. Check the tier list before investing. A hero that drops out of the meta means wasted duplicates.
Consuming Needed Duplicates
Before merging, verify the duplicate is not needed for another purpose — such as a secondary team composition or as a future evolution base. Once consumed, the duplicate is gone forever.
Spreading Prestige Too Thin
Giving one Prestige level to five different heroes is less effective than giving five levels to your main DPS. Focus your duplicates on one hero at a time for maximum impact.
Pro Tips
💡 Pro Tips
- ◆ Target Mythics for easy prestige. Mythic units are cheap to summon (7,500 crystals pity), so you will naturally collect duplicates. Evolve your best copy, then feed the extras into it.
- ◆ Keep a prestige log. Track which heroes have been prestiged and how many levels deep, so you can plan your summoning sessions around getting specific duplicates.
- ◆ Prestige is endgame optimization. If you are still building your initial roster, focus on evolution and team building first. Prestige is the final layer of power optimization.
- ◆ Boss killer heroes benefit most. In Raids and boss fights, even a small percentage damage boost can cut clear times significantly. Prestige your boss killer (like BH (Super Serious)) early.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Prestige system in Anime Overload?
The Prestige system lets you fuse duplicate heroes into an existing hero to permanently increase that hero's stats. Each Prestige level provides permanent stat bonuses. The exact stats enhanced have not been fully documented yet. The duplicates are consumed in the process.
When should I prestige a hero?
You should prestige a hero once they have reached max level and you have already evolved them (if they have an evolution path). Prestiging before evolution means the stat boosts will scale off lower base stats. Prestiging before max level means you are wasting potential stat growth from leveling.
Do I lose the duplicate hero when I prestige?
Yes. The duplicate hero is consumed and permanently destroyed. The stat boost is applied to the target hero. Make sure the duplicate is not a hero you need for your team before merging.
Can I prestige any hero with any duplicate?
No. You can only prestige a hero using an exact duplicate of that same hero. For example, you cannot prestige Goju using a Sokono duplicate — you need another Goju. The duplicate must be the same base unit (evolution forms of the same unit also count).
Is there a maximum Prestige level?
There is a cap on how many times you can prestige a single hero, but the exact cap and whether rarity affects the cap have not been fully confirmed yet. Check the hero's in-game detail page for the current maximum.
